Multiquip UK were invited to an awareness day at Coleg Cambria alerting brickwork students about ways to combat silicosis in the construction industry. Our representative Kevin Welsh took along the iQMS362 Masonry Saw which proved to be an eye-opener for the young audience.
Silicosis is the biggest risk to construction workers after asbestos and as part of a construction safety workshop, Coleg Cambria were eager for us to come and show the up-and-coming brickies that the latest technology means they can say goodbye to dust and silica for good!!
The students were able to see first-hand the new iQMS362 masonry saw which is proving to be hugely popular with contractors for the significant health and benefits and unmatched cutting performance and speed of setup.
The iQMS362 brick saw is fitted with a vacuum system, filter system and a dust containment tray. The 270-degree dust reduction system captures the dust within the blade guard, rear dust guard and a louvred table also captures downdraft via a high powered vacuum.
In addition to the dust capture, the focused airflow from the vacuum keeps the blade cool to the touch during cutting. This means less heat, less friction, less warping and increased life of your saw blade and masonry saw.
This was the start of a busy day for Kevin. The afternoon was spent doing a demonstration for a contractor which resulted in a sale and a very happy customer as you can see from the review below:
Looking forward to doing a block paving job with it as that will set us apart from the competition”
We are also seeing new legislation in the workplace, especially in Ireland, meaning that employers and business owners can combine a great performing machine in a safe environment. A recent review of the iQMS362 masonry saw highlighted this.
Demonstrations are currently happening up and down the UK. We are confident the iQMS362 masonry saw will provide the perfect investment for your business and your workforce. Less start-up time, less cleanup time, less wastage and most importantly, no harmful silica and dust to be inhaled by your workforce.
