We’ve just returned from Sweden after training contractors to operate the latest STX6H ride on concrete power trowel
We may be based in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester, England, but our business dealings take us all over Europe and beyond. Just to illustrate the point, earlier this week one of our service technicians flew over to Helsingborg in Sweden to instruct a team of concrete contractors from Latvia the art of operating the Whiteman Multiquip STX6H concrete power trowel.
The contractors had travelled from Latvia to work on a large contract in Helsingborg and the instructions for the job were quite simple. The concrete that they were contracted to place not only had to be super flat but at the same time, it had to be finished with an attractive surface that was both practical and polished.
After researching alternative concrete finishing and polishing technology they unhesitatingly plumped for the Whiteman Multiquip STX6H, rated by many as the world’s leading Fully Hydrostatic Ride on Power Trowel.
In order to train up the contractor team on this latest technology one of our service technicians, Zac, went across to help them get the very best out of the remarkable STX6H, which by virtue of having six blade assemblies and 33 per cent extra blade contact assures users that they will produce the flattest floor possible.
As part of the training schedule, Zac was able to demonstrate the full catalogue of exclusive STX6H features.
Cruise Control to reduce operator fatigue.
LED Lights for maximum illumination during nighttime or indoor working.
Retardant Spray System providing uniform coverage of the slab surface.
Proportional Hydraulic Steering for enhanced responsiveness.
SmartPitch™ synchronised blade pitch.
Multifunctional Display providing easy-to-read data that maximises efficiency.
Rotor Jog designed to ensure spiders rotate slowly to prevent surface marring as pans separate from the slab surface.
12 Volt Outlet for charging electronic devices.
Panning mode to make sure the trowel blades are completely flat so no pressure is applied to the pans.
As part of the training programme the contractors were able to operate the STX6H themselves in order that they could familiarise themselves with the technicalities and also that they were able to fully appreciate the unique Whiteman design features:
Clamshell Design for simpler maintenance
Automatic Shut-Down that stops the rotors if the operator stands up while the engine is running.
Increased Chassis Rigidity and Stability that reduces risk of body roll and improves steering control.
The STX6H, however, incorporates an additional feature of that will no doubt prove to be extremely beneficial to the Latvian team who regularly operate in cold northern countries. Cold Start Mode is a standard specification of this remarkable concrete power trowel. The STX6H also comes with Very Cold Start Mode, which restricts the engine from high revving in cold weather until the engine has reached the optimum temperature.
As part of the training schedule, Zac was also able to explain and demonstrate the advanced Lap Top diagnostic software that allows operators to accurately monitor the hydraulic activity and rotor speed performance. A valuable facility that ensures the highest level of concrete finishing excellence at all times.
